Privacy

Is my dream journal private? Does anyone else read my dreams?

Your journal is encrypted and stored on your phone, and no one at Undreamt can read it. Voice recordings never leave your device at all.

When you choose to reflect on an entry, only the text of that one entry is sent for analysis. It carries no name, email or device ID, and it's processed under a zero-retention agreement, which means it isn't stored or used to train AI models.

On the Full plan, your journal is backed up with end-to-end encryption, so what reaches our servers is unreadable to us. We never show ads and never sell your data.

How reflection works

Will you tell me what my dream means?

No, and we're upfront about why. No one can reliably say what a dream means, and research doesn't support fixed symbol meanings. A snake doesn't "mean" betrayal.

What we do instead is ask good questions, drawn from dream research, that help you connect a dream to your own life. You're always the one who draws the conclusions.

How does the AI reflection actually work?

When you choose to reflect on a dream, Undreamt uses AI to guide you through three short stages, based on psychologist Clara E. Hill's research: exploring the dream, connecting it to your waking life, and picking one small thing to do.

The AI asks questions and offers tentative ideas like "Could this reflect...?", never answers. Every question carries a source you can check in one tap. The screen always shows that you're talking to AI, not a person.

Before any of that, Undreamt checks for common physical causes, like a warm room or a clenched jaw. Safety checks also run on your phone first, so if an entry suggests you're in distress, you'll be offered support straight away rather than analysis. You can stop at any point without losing your entry.

Can I use it if I don't remember many details?

Yes. A single image, a feeling or a half-remembered scene is enough to start with. Fragments are still worth recording, and many people find they remember more once they start paying attention.

Dream Readiness mode helps too. Switch it on before bed and your phone opens straight to a record button, so you can capture a dream in one tap before it fades.

Pricing

What's the difference between Lite and Full?

Lite is free, for good. Record dreams by voice or text, keep an unlimited encrypted journal on your phone, use the physical-cause checklist and play back-to-sleep sounds.

Full is €6.99 a month or €59.99 a year. It adds guided reflection with sources, the full lucid dreaming toolkit and encrypted cloud backup. Trend views across your journal are planned for a future update.

Neither plan has ads.

Wellbeing

Is this a replacement for therapy?

No. Undreamt is a journal and reflection tool, not a medical device or a form of treatment. It can help you notice patterns and think things through, but it can't diagnose anything or replace a professional.
