G. William Domhoff: dreams as a mirror of waking life
Domhoff, a psychologist at the University of California, Santa Cruz, spent decades analysing large collections of dream reports. His work suggests that dreams are mostly continuous with waking life: they tend to feature the people, worries and interests that matter to you, rather than disguised messages that need a code to crack. His neurocognitive theory links dreaming to the same brain networks involved in daydreaming and imagination.
